With all the protein content that it contains, this oil is also antifungal and anti-bacterial. This means it’s great for your hair follicle, which tends to easily accumulate dust in the beard.

Beard GrowthPairing this oil with fenugreek brings in moisture for the beard. And yogurt is a natural conditioner. So, it helps with faster hair growth, keeps it moisturized and gives a nice silky conditioned feel. That’s a handful of things this little DIY does!

DIY Four – Sandalwood And Lemongrass

Sandalwood is a great anti-septic, something you really need where hair grows. It is important to keep such areas germ-free as they have more potential to aid bacteria. Shea butter adds richness to this recipe and beeswax helps hold the cream together.

Lemongrass basically is in there for its soul uplifting smell! Your man would crave to put this DIY on his beard due to its lovely smell. Especially if he is someone who dislikes creams and the likes, this one is for him!

DIY Beard Cream

What You Will Need

  •  Coconut Oil — 2 Tbsp
  •  Shea Butter — 2 Tbsp
  •  Shaved or Finely chopped Beeswax — 1 1/2 Tbsp
  •  Sandalwood Essential Oil — 15 Drops
  •  Lemongrass Essential Oil — 7 Drops

How To Go About It

Melt the beeswax over a double boiler. Make sure you don’t bring this to a boil. Stir constantly. Once that’s melted and has obtained a liquid state, remove it from heat. Now, add the shea butter and coconut oil. The mixture will still be warm enough to take your shea butter and coconut oil to a liquid state. Have all of these well-blended and then finally add in your essential oils.

Pour the blend into a container with a lid. Leave it to naturally solidify. It will take up to 30-45 minutes to harden. You can always pop it in the fridge if you’re in a hurry, though. Once it hardens, you have yourself an amazing DIY beard balm, ready to use.

Use this balm for deep conditioning days or when you just want your beard to smell good! When you deep condition, you will have to follow up with a wash. And, if you just run your fingers through it (for the smell) you leave it at that.

Now, go and give that beard of yours some well deserved TLC! We’re sure if not all, one of the DIY’s must have gotten enough attention to be used by you! Let us know which one’s your favorite and how it turned out for you.
