How to Make Oatmeal and Banana Smoothie?

It is a great drink to have for breakfast or as a snack at any time of the day.
- One cup Oats
- 1 ripe Banana
- 1 glass Milk (whole or skimmed)
- 1 cup Yogurt (Skimmed)
- 3 to 4 teaspoons Sugar
- Cinnamon or honey (optional)
Steps to Make Oatmeal and Banana Smoothie
Oatmeal and banana smoothie is very simple and easy to make. And it takes a very short time to assemble. The only time-consuming thing is soaking the oats which need to be done the night before for best results.
Soaking the oats
Take 1 cup of oats in a wide-mouthed jar or a tall sided bowl. Add water to it. Add enough water that all the oats are soaked in it. Make sure the oats are completely covered by the water. If you don’t want to leave it overnight, you can leave it for at least four to five hours to get the same result too.
After the time limit, take a strainer and strain the remaining water. Put the oatmeal aside and discard the strained water.
Now comes the banana. It is very easy to prepare bananas and how much preparation can the bananas need. Take 1 banana. We suggest you use the ripe, but you can take any kind you like. Peel off the skin and cut it into average sized pieces.
- Now you can use a blender, or a handheld mixer, whatever you prefer. Add the drained oatmeals to the blender. Make sure to get every last one, don’t want to waste the goodness! Add the bananas that we sliced up all nicely.
- Also, add a glass of milk (skimmed or whole) and a cup of yogurt (again, skimmed or whole, whichever you prefer) Now start blending the mixture. Keep it at medium speed. Blend for up to about 20 seconds.
While blending, you can add three to four teaspoons of sugar (or according to your taste). You can also add honey instead of sugar. Honey gives the smoothie a very smooth texture. And is healthier than white sugar as well. Now continue blending until all the ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture has become completely smooth in texture.
In the end, strain the mixture through a strainer (not very fine) to get a smooth and silky smoothie.
Isn’t this recipe easy and simple to make! You can add ice to it or cool it in your fridge if you like it cold. If you like, you can sprinkle some cinnamon on the top of the smoothie. Take a straw and sip away!
